The former longtime finance manager for a Rosemount youth athletic association pleaded guilty this week to stealing more than $113,000 from the group over three years.

Robert S. Reischauer, 63, of Apple Valley, will be sentenced in Dakota County on Nov. 17 after pleading guilty to five counts of theft.

He had been the Rosemount Area Athletic Association’s (RAAA) finance manager for 27 years when the association decided to replace him in 2013.

When it did, the RAAA discovered in an audit that it was missing a large amount of money from accounts to which only Reischauer would have had access.

According to charges, Reischauer issued checks to himself from the RAAA that he would later delete from its accounting records. He also created PayPal and Amazon accounts in his name while using RAAA funds to pay for transactions.

The Minnesota Department of Commerce Fraud Bureau found that Reischauer stole $113,532 from the RAAA from 2011 to 2013, including $48,524 between Sept. 2012 and Feb. 2013.
